Another GTL restoration project
Andrew McGraa has been tackling another of his collection of Renault 4's down at his garage in Cornwall, England. This time it's his blue GTL which has all the typical signs of ageing. He sends these pictures with the message: 'Have never taken the body off the chassis before and don't believe anyone if they say it's easy. Even with a selection of 2 poster ramps and all the space you need...Not looking forward to putting it back on. I have finished the welding (well not me - one of my staff), undersealed all the underside, sound proofed the inner floor. Going to put the rear axle on this weekend. The engine is completely stripped down, bare block etc, new shells, seal, timing chain and sprockets..valves reground...don't know if it will start...haha...should be like a new one when it's finished and ready for sale maybe??
