The small print

I, Peter Gumbrell, am hereby referred to as 'the editor'.
The following terms and conditions apply to users of the classified advertisements section:

All advertisements offered for publication on Renault 4-Play (this website) must be legal and truthful. Adverts are published, or not, at the editor's absolute discretion, and are subject to editing if deemed necessary. All material is published in good faith, but the editor does not accept responsibility for the accuracy or otherwise of any advertisement or message published (nor is any kind of warranty expressed or implied by such publication). The editor disclaims all and any liability to advertisers, readers and users of any kind for loss or damage of any nature whatsoever and however arising, whether due to inaccuracy, error, omission or any other cause, and whether on the part of the editor, the advertisers, or any other person.

The editor will not knowingly make any details of advertisers available to any third party, and does not encourage such activity, which includes, but is not limited to spam or junk mail, either by use of e-mail or any other method of communication. No assurances can be made however that other individuals, organizations, computerized programs or other parties will not use information available on this website for such purposes. Any reports of such activity should be sent to the editor via the e-mail address given below.

No charge is made to private advertisers using this service. Trade or business ads cannot be accepted at present, and the editor shall choose to suspend or withdraw any adverts suspected or known to be related to such business or trade. Adverts intended purely for the promotion of other websites or commercial activities will not be accepted. Genuine requests for links to other Renault and related websites should be addressed via the 'add a link' form in the links section of this website. Pictures can only be included with an advert if they are sent according to the procedure outlined on the 'place an advert' page. It is not possible to include a URL for an image, as this puts the content of the classifieds page beyond the editor's control. In instances where an advert contains a hyperlink or reference to external sites, these will have to be monitored first before publication of the advert, which may cause a delay.

Adverts published on this website will appear for a period of approximately one month, or some other period as decided at the editor's discretion, or until instructed otherwise by the advertiser for reason of cancellation, renewal or modification. A reminder may on occasions be sent to the advertiser by email when an advert has expired.

All advertisements must be accompanied by a valid e-mail address to be printed in the text. Extra contact details such as phone numbers may be included in the text, but advertisers should be aware of potential consequences in making such details available to the public. The editor may in particular circumstances arrange for a password to be used by an advertiser when sending information regarding advertisements.

* Addendum: It has been brought to the editor's attention that one advertiser using this service has been a victim of a fraud. Such events are not necessarily specific to this website, but this is a warning to other persons selling items through this website or other similar facilities both on the Internet and elsewhere. This particular scam involved the buyer sending an additional sum of money on top of the asking price, and requesting that the seller send this on to a shipping agent via a money transfer. The advertiser was led to believe the cheque had cleared (due in part to their bank failing to advise otherwise in a timely manner), but the buyer then pulled out and asked for the money to be returned. When this happened, the original cheque bounced, the account had been closed the previous day and the advertiser was left out of pocket. Clearly at any time there will be a number of different scams doing the rounds, and this is just one such example, although it is the first problem notified to the editor by any users of this website. The editor can only advise all advertisers and other users to be wary of entering into any 'irregular' activity involving payment for goods or other services, such as the money transfer described here. As set out above, it is beyond the editor's responsibility to oversee every aspect of dealings resulting from use of this website and to ensure that no problems arise. With the majority of Renault 4-related items sold through this website being of relatively low value, the editor suggests that any persons who are concerned about such issues make the not unreasonable demand in these circumstances, of a straight cash-in-hand deal with no added complications.
