40th anniversary - Arnhem 2001: photos part 20: the world's only Renault 4 and a half?
Here's one of the most unusual models found at the event, and one of the most inventive that attracted a lot of attention. The owner tells me that the job of converting the extra half of a Renault 4 into a trailer was quite easy. He cut the car in two between the front and rear passenger doors, and shaped a piece of wood to seal the front. A colleague on a restoration course that I once attended used to be a Renault mechanic, and he did many things with Renault 4s. He told me that he performed a similar operation when converting an R4 into a pickup, by cutting it in the same place.
Also in the background of these pictures, you can see the Yellow Submarine-themed R4.
