40th anniversary - Arnhem 2001: photos part 25: going on safari.... in the Netherlands
Saving the best till last (well, actually there's a lot more photos from the car park outside), but this beautiful Safari model was the last one I saw inside the museum. This special edition of the R4 was manufactured around the mid 1970s and, like the later Jogging model, is now highly desirable. There were two Safari editions of the same colour that attended the event. You can see the other one pictured by the windmill during the Saturday tour earlier on in this section.
As you can see, the interior is quite stunning, with starkly different seat styling to a regular R4. The seats themselves are much thinner than the standard type, but have a luxurious padded base. Of all the Renault 4s I have seen, I think this has become my favourite, and I'm very jealous of its owner!
