I took a trip down to the beach at Shoreham Harbour with my parents' dog who, as ever, got soaked and leapt back in the car to dirty the back seat. However, it was nowhere near as dark as it appears, and unfortunately the quality of the film - along with the developing - made it look like this. It's kind of moody though. In fact, it's a bit like a scene out of Hitchcock's The Birds.... that is if the crows turned into seagulls, the location switched to Shoreham beach and a Renault 4 went past.... hmm, don't really remember that scene. And neither did I end up lying on the pavement with my eyes plucked out, so forget it.
Unfortunately, you can't quite see the dog in the above photo, else it would have been a contender for the Pets page in the Playroom.
This was the first photo I took at the time but the flash didn't work, so it came out even darker than the other two. A few cheap tricks with Paint Shop Pro produced this endearing image. It has a certain rustic appeal, and this is actually more representative of how light it was at the time.
