Whilst waiting for some friends to emerge from a neighbouring apartment block, I had to take this opportunity in May 2011 to capture my Renault 4 invading enemy territory. This Citroën garage is something of a landmark building in Lyon, situated on Rue de Marseille in the 7th arrondissement, and constructed between 1930 and 1932 in an industrial style very much of its era. The five floors, enormous surface area and ramps permitting vehicle access are housed behind large glass display windows that lent the garage a very modern feel at its time of inauguration. It is now classed as an historic building, contrary to the wishes of its owners who worried about the costs and administration involved in any future maintenance.
