MC199

I found this Four sitting up on the Lyon hillside opposite Minimes metro station in March 2011. I hoped to pass by again with my proper camera but didn't get around to it, so this blurry shot from my age-old mobile is all I can manage. It's a shame I didn't note more details at the time, since there are some intriguing items to mention, including amongst the many decals which otherwise feature Eurostar and something on the bonnet to do with Switzerland, where I had just taken my own R4 a week before.

I'm now not sure looking at that number plate whether the vehicle is even French, though it is perhaps one of the new-style versions and I think I can just discern the right-hand regional identification mark to be that of the Rhône-Alpes with its purple colour. The new format French plates no longer include the département as part of the number itself, but rather as an appended visual feature, and owners can now choose to display the two-digit code of an alternative département to that in which they live, unlike the old system. Somebody recently told me that my local number 69 for Rhône is now the most popular in all of France.
