A short while ago, I wrote some comments in this section (entry #PP133) regarding the latest glut of Renault 4 photos sent by multiple R4 owner Paul in the Netherlands, stating 'somehow I suspect that won't be the last we hear from Paul!' I was clearly justified in these remarks since he has made a swift return with these latest images. He comments:
'Well, here are a few pix of my latest creation. I think I've done all right this time. I didn't have any money to spend so I used whatever I had laying around. Painted with a roller and paintbrush and an airbrush for the letters I think it looks good. Under the bonnet is a 1400 R5 engine with the automatic transmission from the same R5 it runs on LPG (propane). This will be my service car for the coming years.'
Paul adds:
'....I still do have some other plans in mind. I have a R4F6 Sinpar (4x4) with a rusted chassis. I am going to put another chassis under it and make it like new. I was thinking about making a pickup out of it, but not just a cut F6, but a nice Californian Look stepside pickup, probably with a tilt bed like a mini dumptruck. I'll keep you posted....'
Since these photos arrived at the start of 2004, Paul has been at it again, and has repainted the vehicle during autumn of the same year. Photos of this latest decoration frenzy can be found at number PP175 in this section, with an additional image in the Star Car gallery (number SC21).
