These images come from Alex in France, who says:

'Inspired by an old ad from R4 where the car posed as a train. I'm a proud pilot of '85 R4. I love your site, keep up the good work.'

'I have some more I would like to send you of "her". I bought her for 280€. Here in the south of france 4Ls are still "bountyful" I'm lucky to say. They're look at still as a normal car, and people most of the time don't take care of them. Mine was abandon on a back street when I found her. Full of cob webs, sand and spare parts. Covered top to bottom with "i donate my blood" bumper stickers. Bit by bit I brought her (la petite voiture or la royles she's known as at home), back to life. She's a daily driver, and a real love to drive.'

'Someone drew a renault diamond on what looks to be a 57 chevy. "how dare they!"'

'Zig zaggin' through the vineyards - no road is too dangerous for us.'

Alex adds:

'....I live in Narbonne, France. Yes, Narbonne. Once the Roman capital of Gaul, now a sleepy town of 55 000 people. I travelled quite a bit around France and Europe, and in terms of cars, this region of France (Languedoc) is a "hot bed" for R4s. There are a countless number of them running up and down Narbonne's streets. On my street alone there are 6 R4s. There is even one still in service by the local gendarmerie. I hope this makes your day.'
