This resplendent red GTL features here courtesy of its owner, Olivier, who contacted me in June 2006 with the message:

'hello, I am a mate and customer of derek @ renospeed. Got this car from loot, 85 model, only 68000 miles, derek painted door handles and plastic side protection black, can't decide whether to paint bumpers red, black or silver!?'

My own opinion on the most suitable colour was black, although I advised Olivier that any traditionalist would stick with grey. He replies:

'i think i'll go with you and paint the bumpers black; stick to the red and black scheme.'

Notice the sticker in the rear windscreen - an increasingly common sight these days as Derek Flavell's Renospeed garage is lending a hand in the restoration of many British R4s.
