'Hang on a minute!' - a few of you might be saying. Those who are very observant and long time users of this site may recognise the above shot. In fact it belongs in the 40th anniversary Arnhem Report from 2001, found in the Events section. The reason it is shown here again is that the former owner, Johan Melis, sent a collection of images in March 2007, of which he says this R4 Alpine was built by himself and later sold to Fons Robbé. Below is another photo from that famed event.

The white Renault 4 F4 seen above on the right has since been fully restored by Johan Melis, and transformed into the car seen below.

Johan drives this van every day. He says it has disc brakes on the front and handbrake on the rear, featuring Alpine wheels, a 1,400cc R5TS engine, Renault 5GT Turbo seats and a nice new yellow colour.
