40th anniversary - Arnhem 2001: photos part 2: more from the campsite
Here's some more from the same field that I was parked in. This first one appears to be in pristine condition, and it has the grille that most people seem to favour. Of all the grille types that adorned the front of Renault 4s over the years, it seems people prefer this predominantly '70s chrome version with the single horizontal bar, and the Renault logo positioned to one side. Perhaps we'll have a vote about this on the site one day when we're really bored.
Ah now, R4 buffs amongst you should notice what this is. It's a Parisienne. About three of these highly desirable special editions turned up to the event. They were most notable for the wicker trim on the sides, and some had a tartan-style trim. They were only produced in the mid sixties for about three years, and are now worth a fortune if preserved in good condition. Unusually, they were all black, which is not otherwise a colour ever really used for the Renault 4.
This red GTL was one of only about six British vehicles at the event, and belongs to Clive from England. It was in very good condition, and his top box was a useful addition not spotted on any of the other R4s.
A spanking example of a van, something not so often seen in wet northern Europe.
One of the other British right-hand drive cars that we found. (Ssshhh! Don't mention the reversing lights!) Maybe they only ever drive forwards.
