In March 2012, I made a return trip in a Transit van to move the remainder of my affairs from the UK to France. En route to Lyon, I spotted this pink F4 van hiding in a garden at the side of the road. I was in a dash so couldn't do a U-turn, but on the way back some days later I kept a lookout.

Somewhere on the N7 between Roanne and Moulins (I believe it may have been close to the village of Rongères), I sniffed it out and pulled over to take a closer look, and a photo, at which point the owner came outside to see what I was up to. It is perhaps only the third pink R4 that makes it onto this site, following #MC75 earlier in this section, and the special edition presented by Renault at the 1st 4L International in 2009 (later seen again at other events including the Nürburgring in 2011). I believed it had been repainted, since I hadn't ever imagined that Renault produced a car in this colour originally, although the owner insisted that it was the original paintwork and he had never resprayed it.

The owner also stated that he intended to sell it, but he's not been in touch since, and so for that reason I shall leave its mystery status as 'unsolved'.
