Only a small smattering of snaps have ever been sent from Africa, and the sender of these images, Odile Keane, comments:

'This is still used as our runabout car, on the most appalling roads. The floor has been remade by the local mechanic, who miraculously keeps her running. I learnt to drive in this car - sometime around 1969!! The car lived all of its life in Nanyuki, Kenya, on the slopes of Mt Kenya, but recently drove a few 100kms south to Limuru, where it is now with my brother, waiting for new brakes!'
