Almost a first for this website: a very rare R4 pickup photo. The owner, Liam Jones, was just beaten to this honour by one of the attendants at the 40th anniversary event in Arnhem, whose pickup picture you can find in that section (part 10). He bought this vehicle 'blind' early in 2002, but it's a real stunner, and appears to be in very good condition. There are very few of these still around, despite being produced in reasonable numbers alongside the vans for some years. Perhaps the open back attracts rot and rust, I'm not sure, but they're certainly an unusual sight. Later in 2002, this vehicle was acquired by another regular contributor to this site, Andrew McGraa in Penzance.
