It may not be immediately obvious who the character in the above image is, but if the moneypenny hasn't dropped yet you'll never work it out. Back in 2001, I posted a remark in my pointless comments page about a short film I'd watched when sat up into the early hours one morning, in which a Renault 4 had featured. A decade later I tracked it down on the net, and was surprised to find out who the star was.

The man with the (golden?) gun is in fact Daniel Craig, seen here in his acting career prior to his role as James Bond. He doesn't actually drive the R4 but he gets close enough to qualify for this page. I won't divulge the secret of how this 12-minute flick ends, you'll have to watch it for yourself by following this link to the Dailymotion site (note: video contains violence and general badness). Suffice to say, all the efforts of Jaws, Blofeld and the rest couldn't compete with a Renault 4! Whoever would have thought?
