This also seems like a good place to insert a short article written by Andre Barbosa, which he has headed
'Driving a R4, the standing.'

'In Portugal there are hundreds (actually, thousands) of 4L's (it is said Koo ah troo eh le) passing on the roads. Well, the status of the 4L is just the same, it's a stupid car, a slow car, an old car (old, not ancient), an ugly car. When you are driving, everyone who drives a common car (fiat uno, renault clio, etc) or a big fuel eater (audi, bmw, mercedes), tries to pass you, even if they, afterwards, go slower than you. Let them go, I go on and if they do something dangerous I use the horn and other intimidatory tactics :-) I go to University and my classmates and schoolmates always say to me: "Why are you driving that? Go buy a car." And then I look around and see a lot of fiat unos, some audis, some opel corsas, and one 4L (mine), because no-one wants one. And the thousands of 4L's are going to the junkyard, because they are useless cars. So, we, the fans of R4's, have rare cars, with personality (what makes each one unique), often with names (I have 2 good and a wrecked one, all with names: Beta, Isabel (Belita for friends), and the wrecked one was Linda until the accident), and we don't want to be just one more in the traffic, we are different.'
