#194: Choop, Serbia, 2003-02-12
Ok, so i had to come and write you this story...:] Few days ago, loads of snow fell onto Belgrade streets, and it was like wonderfull, i jumped into my TL (put 4 new snow tires just few days ago) and yhea! i was fastest on the streets... everyone in their fancy cars, scared of the weather, doing 30-40, and me, with a huge smile on my face, riding slalom between them, doin' 'bout 90-100 (yes, I am crazy, but i simply love it!!!) didn't wreck any cars this time :]]] You know.. i really love my '80 tl! it runs like hell! Greetz, Choop

I had a wonderful little R4 in Morocco. Great car! I drove it all over Morocco and took it on the ferry to Spain. Twenty years old and easy to maintain. I'd get one here if I could.

Happy new year to all the individuals out there. Anyone in every walk of life suits a R4 even that cross dresser Andrew from Penzance.
#185: Ben, UK, 2003-01-06
Wotcha! Remember me? I owned the Orange baby that your folks snapped in Sainsbury's, Hove. Just a quickie to say well done for your continuing effort and congrats on going bilingual..wise choice. My old car is still in the posession of a family friend in Birmingham and is still in good nick. The new owner has repeatedly left the car running and unattended as he nips into shops...when returning finding would be theives laughing! Best security I heard of.. Happy New Year and go forth into the future.. Ben

#174: ANDREW MCGRAA, UK, 2002-11-12
LOOK EVERYONE....MY BLUEY IS THE ***STAR CAR***..WHAT A HONOUR..LIAM WILL BE JEALOUS HAHA, THANKS PETE, KEEP ALL YOUR HARD WORK
webmaster comments: This looks suspiciously like one of those comments you put on other people's guestbooks when you're a bit drunk late at night. However, I suspect the real reason for your outburst is your thinly veiled attempt to turn your world map dot for Penzance from blue to green. Visitors should note these comments are probably also due in part to my calling Andrew a git for sending me a photo of the several different R4s now in his possession. If you're having trouble finding an R4 in England, it's because he's got them all! There's a danger of a European Renault 4 mountain building up in Cornwall which could become too heavy and sink the county. Although, that might not altogether be such a bad thing; would put an end to those horrible pasties for a start!

This site inspired me to buy another Renault 4 after 2 years of driving other cars. I now look forward to driving to work (previously it was just driving from work). These cars are just so entertaining - driving it always puts a smile on my face. Finally I've got around to signing the guestbook. My mechanic Clementine says there aren't enough colours on your world map and there should be a special orange dot for the R4 cat on Bedford.
webmaster comments: Creating a new orange dot just for a cloth cat probably sits at about number 1,572 in my list of things that urgently need doing for this site at present, so clever clogs Clementine will have to make do with the standard red one. Anyway, if I caved in to its demands, I'd have Bagpuss on my hands next asking for a pink one.

I'm very sorry to be selling a good friend - my 1971 R4. We have travelled far, and she has never let me down, but the time has come to part. While working in England, I bought a 2CV - I felt a bit guilty about liking driving the 2CV more, but the R4 is a more practical car, and in it you get the sensation of sailing while on dry land which no other car can give. What a suspension! Great site by the way. Cheers from Australia.

#144: Bjorn Bjerkeskaug, Norway, 2002-06-20
After searching both in Norway and abroad for over a year, I eventualy bought a very nice 83' R4 GTL last Monday. The car has run only 84000 kms and has practically no rust at all!!
webmaster comments: delighted to hear it - may you have many happy hours with your new friend. (Has anybody else noticed the Scandinavians are invading my guestbook? Come on all you Danes and Icelanders - finish the job!)
#143: Ralph Sundberg, Sweden, 2002-05-29
I have a R4 1974 which is driven only 64000 km. It is colored in orange and my best and funniest car.
#142: Marko, Finland, 2002-05-29
Good R4 site, Very informative also. Take a look of my R16 site. It's not as complete as your R4 site but maybe someday... Nice work
#141: james stafford, UK, 2002-05-23
Just bought my first 4 and am in love!! 'yoda' is a 1983 GTL and is my first car. the car has bags of character and since buying it 4 weeks ago have done 2,000 miles; not bad considering I'm still on my L plates! If anyone else has a 4 up in scotland get in touch, or anyone else who wants to rant about how wonderful 4s are.

proud recent owner of 1967 R4 - at least first registered in NZ in '67 - anyone know how I can find out actual age? (of the R4 that is...). It goes but needs a bit of work.
#135: Lynsey & Cathryn Davies, UK, 2002-05-11
We are twins and we each have a Renault 4 GTL. One is yellow with black wings (1984) called Reapers and the other is silver (1986) called Radar. Truly unique cars and everyone turns to stare as we drive past. Great website. Nice to know there's someone out there as obsessed with the Renault 4's as we are!
#134: andrew mcgraa, UK, 2002-05-05
at last the summer is here. pulled the covers off my 1976 TL, cleaned and polished her, and off we went..she was brilliant..missed her so much over the winter. beats driving my other car day in day out. oh yeah..its a SUBARU IMPREZA WRX. still prefer driving the 4.....YEAH RIGHT....keep up the good work pete..top site
#133: Mario de Almeida, Portugal, 2002-04-30
I am a owner of 2 4L one red 1989 and another one 1974 (that just went today to restoration). I am the second owner of the 1975 was bought in Rhodesia, travelled to Mozambique then South Africa and finally was sent to Portugal... Always the same owner until last year. I made once connection with Palma that sent me tons of photos... beautiful ones and never sent mine... Desculpa lá Fernando Palma, vamos ver se é desta... I find this site very important and interesting for the 4L scene
#132: adam smith, UK, 2002-04-28
fantastic a site dedicated to the R4 having just returned from france and witnessed that the r4 is still used so much over there I cant understand why it is so hard to find one to buy over here! if all else fails I'll have to go back and buy a french model - I mean the r4!
#131: Boz Groden, UK, 2002-04-25
Thanks to your brilliant site, I have been inspired to put my GTL back on the road after it clattered to a halt last year. Driving a crappy Hyundai for a year, I've never been so bored in my life! Even a trip to work in my R4 was a bit of an adventure. If you have no cash like me, old type renault 5's have lots of interchangeable parts. big thanks for your site, picture soon.
#130: Arturo, Spain, 2002-04-20

#128: deirdre, UK, 2002-04-15
Hi there. I got my current Reno in 1994 when I worked in France. It's beige, which meant it blended nicely into the scenery when we drove it to Morocco and back a couple of years ago. I was interested to learn about the R4 entrant in the World Cup Rally. I've always been a big Renault 4 fanatic - when living in Scotland I had a succession of them, none of which lasted very long due to the climate. We bought a 1990 white R4 last year in Portugal, which is in storage until The Desert Fox stops trundling. I went back to France to work for a few weeks at the beginning of this year and was surprised how few Quatrelles I saw on the roads. I would be interested to hear of any R4 rallies to be held in Britain or abroad that The Desert Fox and I could attend. Best wishes, Deirdre MacLean

Big Thanks to the guy who runs this Great site for a very underrated car. I own a 62 and 'Ernie the Pick-up' [see Gallery]. Need early spares for the 62 as it's my daily driver. Mechanic by trade so always willing to give advice on problems. Quietly Better than the Beetle or 2CV but we'll keep that to ourself.

#123: Shaun Parker, UK, 2002-03-26
I have recently spent a small fortune getting my beloved 'C' reg light blue R4 on the road. I purchased her last August but she needed a new MOT (which she passed with flying colours) and a 12 month road tax. But then..........BANG! On my very first journey, I blew her head gasket and radiator. I couldn't believe it - I had been waiting for over 15 years to own a R4 again and it lasted just 20 minutes. Well, that was two weeks ago and now I'm feeling really cheesed off about it but I know when I'm beaten. I don't know anything about mechanics and I can't afford the bill to replace the parts. So, I have a much loved R4 in my garage awaiting rescue by someone who knows more about cars than I. There is no way I'm going to let her be scrapped but she'll make a great car for someone with a good radiator and head gasket. ANY OFFERS?

Saludos.

Hurrah for the Renault 4! This entry follows a mystery calling card featuring this website which was left on our windscreen... It is good to see the love for such a beauty is still burning worldwide...our particular 'old lady' has been brought back from Avignon, France and is enjoying her holidays...a hell of a time registering her though! Well, keep going all you 4-players and keep the spirit... Ben and Karine

I've just noticed that even though I visit this site frequently I haven't signed the guestbook yet. So: I'd like to tell every visitor of this site that this is just about the best, most enjoyable website on Renault 4 that I know. Sorry to the other site owners, but it's true. Take a look at my car (PP33) and then take another look at my site, where you can find more about my car and what I think of it.
webmaster comments: Christof informs me in 2005 that this website no longer exists, so the link has been removed.
#103: Oscar, Netherlands, 2001-12-25
Hey. Nice page. I have never found an R4 page with so many pics before. Well done. The last years I have been saving money, which is not very easy being a student! And in a few months I will buy my first car: of course a Renault 4! Keep it going!
#102: Brian Wilson, New Zealand, 2001-12-24
A great site but how come NZ is not even on your map? I know R4's were never imported here but some of us who have travelled overseas have had the pleasure of owning one and would like another
webmaster comments: hmm, it's not on the world map admittedly but you will find it on the map of Pacific & New Zealand, so don't worry your dot will appear! I got the maps from elsewhere and there wasn't a good one of New Zealand available I'm afraid.
#101: Bruce Pennell, UK, 2001-12-11
Happy Quatrelle Crimbo to one and all (for those who observe the festival obviously) Just received my R4 goodies from the Gift Shop - fantastic !!!! Just hope the rest of my family (intended recipients) are equally impressed... "only a mug would have one of these"
webmaster comments: no smug comments from me this time, your recommendation says it all, he said smugly.
