Drove with Quatrelles more than 100.000 km. The longest trip around Europe (Poland-Germany-France-Italy-Austria-Czech Rep.-Poland) in 1999 was about 6.500km without any defect (4 person with a pack on the roof)!!! One R4F6 restored (from red to green). I like this colorful site very much. I've drew some ideas of restoration from you.

#418: Damian, UK, 2010-02-20 First encounter with the Renault 4 when I was aged 11, my first 4 at 16 and have since owned another 12 including a factory black example, Very fond memories, I have also collected many sales brochures, books etc on the 4 and still have a softspot for them after many years of mending and taking them apart. Far superior to the 2CV in my opinion and far more practical too! The last GTL examples were easier to live with but had lost some of their 'quirkiness' which reflect my personality :o)

I had temporarily forgotten one of the true 'mantras' of my adult life - namely to own a R4. OK, I admit it, it's true. A divorce, a blown head-gasket (see Guestbook 2002), 3 job changes, a move across the UK (twice), a new born son, 4 house moves and a few ups & downs in my life may have allowed me to take my eye off the ball. BUT NOT ANY LONGER. I feel liberated. In fact, as some middle-aged men do, I have just run upstairs and into our bedroom, as my better-half is administering a face-pack, to announce to her (in a eureka style moment) that I SHALL own an R4 again - just as soon as the purse strings will allow. I'm a back. #401: John Greenwood, UK, 2007-04-13 It's a pleasure to be a Renault 4 owner, mine is a 6F van 1985, battered but unbowed. It has just sailed through its latest MoT. It has travelled to Norway, Denmark, Germany and especially France. It has carried countless tons of everything from oak planks to cubic metres of horse manure. People have had sex in the back of it (not me!). I am lucky to be able to get it serviced in France where I have a little house, and also ready access to a French scrap yard. Long may it continue!
